Do you accept insurance or HSA/FSA?
Yes, Teal Health costs can be covered by HSA (Health Savings Accounts) and FSA (Flexible Spending Accounts). Teal Health is working with major insurance plans, including Cigna, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. We also have a cash pay option.
Please note, we cannot service Medicaid or Medi-Cal patients at this time, even as self-pay (cash pay) patients.

What happens if I get an abnormal result (HPV positive)?
Teal Health follows national screening guidelines. If results indicate follow-up care is needed, you can meet virtually with a Teal provider to discuss next steps and coordinate referral care.
What is the Teal Wand?
The Teal Wand is the first FDA-authorized self-collection device for at-home cervical cancer screening. You collect a sample at home and mail it to the lab to be tested with the same Primary HPV test used by a doctor.

At-home collection with the Teal Wand has the same accuracy as in the doctor’s office for Primary HPV testing. It detects cervical precancer 96% of the time.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. Because the Teal Wand requires a prescription, you’ll complete a short virtual visit with a Teal provider before we mail your kit.
How does at-home screening work?
Order a kit and complete a brief virtual visit, then collect your sample at home and mail it to the lab. Within a week, you can view results in your Teal portal. If follow up is needed, a Teal provider will help coordinate next steps.
Who should get screened for cervical cancer?
The American Cancer Society recommends routine screening for people ages 25–65 who have a cervix (has not had a total hysterectomy and removed the cervix).
What test does the lab use?
With the Teal Wand, women are testing a sample for HPV (human papillomavirus), the virus that causes nearly all cervical cancers, using the same highly accurate HPV test that medical guidelines recommend and providers use in the clinic – cobas® HPV from Roche.
Is at-home screening comfortable?
